This course starts with fundamental brush techniques. While learning standard script (Kaishu), students are gradually introduced to the charm of different calligraphy styles, including Small Seal Script, Clerical Script, Standard Script, Running Script, and Slender Gold Script. Through writing practice, learners can truly enter the history and aesthetics of Chinese calligraphy.

The class integrates engaging stories about Wang Xizhi, Yan Zhenqing, Ouyang Xun, Zhao Mengfu, Huang Tingjian, Emperor Huizong (creator of the Slender Gold Script), and others, allowing students to “learn the spirit behind the stories.”

• 📜 Appreciation of Calligraphy Masterpieces
Students will study works such as Lantingxu, Duobao Pagoda Stele, Jiucheng Palace, Yan Qinli Stele, Slender Gold Thousand Character Classic, and more to enhance aesthetic sense.

Calligraphy helps cultivate patience, attention to detail, and tranquility—beneficial for both students and adults.

🌟 中国象棋是中国传统的益智棋类游戏，有着几千年的历史。
      中国象棋的棋盘中间有一条 “楚河汉界”，这是它和国际象棋最大的不同之一。它使用 “将、士、象、车、马、炮、兵” 等棋子，摆放在棋盘的交叉点上，而不是格子里。棋子不能像国际象棋那样随意走，每个棋子都有自己独特的走法。
✍️ 下棋时需要动脑思考、提前计划，非常锻炼逻辑能力；中国象棋不仅好玩，还能帮助学生提高专注力和耐心。
🖋️ 通过学习中国象棋，学生可以了解中国文化，体验中华智慧的魅力。 

🌟  Chinese Chess (Xiangqi) is a traditional Chinese strategy game with a history of thousands of years.
The board has a special dividing line called the “River,” which is one of the biggest differences from Western chess. It uses pieces such as the General, Advisor, Elephant, Chariot, Horse, Cannon, and Soldier, which are placed on the intersections of the board rather than in squares. Each piece has its own unique movement rules. 

✍️  Playing Chinese chess requires thinking ahead and planning strategies, helping students develop strong logical thinking skills. It is not only fun, but also helps improve focus and patience. 

 🖋️  By learning Chinese chess, students can explore Chinese culture and experience the wisdom of traditional Chinese thinking.

        多年来，不少家长对暨南大学出版社的《中文》教材表示不满，认为其词汇量偏低、内容陈旧、语言不够优美，难以激发学生学习中文的兴趣与热情。为了提升中文教学质量，并在董事会的大力支持与推动下，中文学校决定自今年起启用人民教育出版社的《语文》教材。

鉴于周末授课时间有限，学校对中文课程安排作出如下调整：

• K班：教材保持不变； 
• 一年级：使用《人教版语文一年级（上）》； 
• 二年级：使用《人教版语文一年级（下）》； 
• 三年级：使用《人教版语文二年级（上）》； 
• 四年级 （原四-五年级合班）：使用《人教版语文二年级（下）》； 
• 五年级 （原六-七年级合班）：使用《人教版语文三年级（上）》； 
• 六年级 （原八-十年级合班）：使用《人教版语文三年级（下）》。

        春季中文班，不再收书本费。

 根据大家的选择，开设两门，由Jim Li （8th Grader）和 Frank Hsu （9th Grader）授课 。

MATHCOUNTS 是最主要的中学生数学竞赛与教育项目 之一，参赛学生必须是 6–8 年级学生， 5 年级优秀学生可参加校内训练。

* 形式：个人赛 + 团体赛

* 目标：提高中学生的数学兴趣、问题解决能力和自信心

竞赛级别

1. 校级（School Level）

    * 11月个人报名，12月初举行校级比赛，PFMS和MNMS各选拔10 名学生组成校队。5年级所有报名学生中选拔2-4人参加校队训练，但不能正式参赛。

2. 地区赛（Chapter Level）

    * 2月初举行，决定晋级州赛的个人名额和团队名额。大概4-8人可参加州赛。

3. 州赛（State Level）

    * 3月中下旬举行，前四名进入全国赛。

4. 全国赛（National Competition）

    * 5月举行

MATHCOUNTS is one of the most well-known middle school mathematics competitions and enrichment programs in the United States. It is designed to foster students’ interest in mathematics while strengthening problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and confidence.

The program is open to students in grades 6–8. Exceptional 5th-grade students may participate in school-based training but are not eligible for official competition.

Program Format

• Individual Competition and Team Competition 
• Emphasis on problem solving, collaboration, and mathematical thinking
   

• Individual registration in November 
• School competition held in early December 
• PFMS and MNMS each select 10 students to form their school team 
• From registered 5th-grade students, 2–4 students may be selected for team training only

本课程由王延庆老师授课，适合高中生或初中高年级学生，需具备扎实的 Python 编程基础，或者学过之前“深度学习基础课”的同学。本课程以项目实践为主，概念讲解相对简洁，适合具有一定技术能力的学生。

Chess  helps develop logical thinking, focus, decision-making, and strategic  skills. The class will start with basic rules and gradually build up to  real-game strategies — perfect for students of all ages and skill  levels.
